Today’s NOC humor #2

Caller: I can’t sync. I called and talked to someone else and they said it might be my test box, but I wanted to call and verify it’s not my box.

Instructor: (snickers) Okay hold on. (puts caller on hold, starts troubleshooting.)

Instructor: (troubleshooting complete) Well it’s not her box. We sniffed out that problem!

if you have a tattoo read this

skinmeetsoil:

Women do not hold the beauty of the world; au contraire, all humans hold the beauty of the world. It’s a female ego that seemingly thinks it is the demagogue of what is considered beauty and how a woman should conduct herself in society. It’s the previous generation’s paternalistic views such as this one that keeps other people disliking tattoos and keeps women from getting them. This girl is also undoubtedly and perhaps unintentionally sexist. Everything is beautiful, which includes everyone’s art and everyone’s choice to decorate their fleshy vehicles just as they please. To judge these people and call them ineloquent is tactless.

Your Diagnosis

You reach out to the world and pull in experiences of all forms and kinds. Spontaneous, immediate and active, you have a natural tendency to win, whether this is in the business world or on the freeway. In the right context this can be a positive encouragement to those around you. In the wrong context it can lead to a pathetic display of ego and misplaced pride. You are always on the prowl for clues as to how to win. Usually this behavior is unconscious or playful but the sense of play can rapidly disappear if you are found to be losing in the aforementioned contest. Only those who don’t compete are met with derision. You love to be the center of attention. The moment at hand is always of prime concern. Worries about the future or the past, or abstract discussions of philosophical matters are something for others to concern themselves with. Emotions are fleeting and often used as tactics.

My wife says this is spot on, but I only agree with a few things, lol. She knows me better than I know myself I guess. Try it here: http://www.hypnoid.com/psytest2.html

Sharks and Danger

I’m sure this is all gonna sound really ridiculous and uh… I don’t exactly expect anyone to believe all this. Uh… for the last little while I’ve been kinda keeping correspondance with my sanity, and uhh… I really get the feeling that I’m starting to lose interest in the letter writing process. The pieces of the letters, they just get progressively shorter and shorter until it’s not even a reply. I uhh… the whole thing makes me really nervous. I just wish I could show you what a huge problem this is.

I kind of have this… Really terrible habit of asking myself all these stupid questions, right? Like what if uhh… what if there’s a spot on my body that I can touch to keep my heart from beating? or like what if, what if theres this uhh… stray bullet out there that’s gonna come through my window and take me out? like what if uhh… what if theres this huge unstoppable comet that’s just gonna like, destroy the earth and all of us? Like what… what if that’s happening right now? How can I avoid all these questions if I don’t have that? Like, who is gonna be here? Why… who is gonna be there… in the hospital? Who is gonna tell me that all this is bullshit… its a dream? Just a dream. This is not a joke. And uhh… i’ll never sleep.

(One of my major regrets in life is that I was never able to see Alexisonfire perform .44 Calibur Love Letter live, or any of their other songs for that matter. R.I.P. AOF)

Kill the Labels, Bury the Genre

I’m kind of sick of genre lumping nowadays. As much of an elitist as I am when it comes to music, I refuse to label my music. Yes, it’s pretty easy, and sometimes necessary, but some of the genres out there today kind of piss me off. “Mathcore,” “Nintendocore,” “Metalcore,” ”Blue-Eyed Soul,” ”Emo (which is my biggest pet peeve).” It’s rediculous.

Why is it that when someone comes out with something groundbreaking and new that no one’s ever heard before, they immediately rush at labeling and argue what it should be called. IT’S MUSIC!! People that worry about lumping bands in a genre, in my opinion, don’t even care about music and are so narrowminded when it comes to opening up to new music.

Where is line between Hardcore and Post-Hardcore? What seperates them? DOES IT FUCKING MATTER?? In my opionion, it doesn’t. What defines a band being emo? If Fall Out Boy came out 20 years ago with Take This To Your Grave, it would’ve been labled pop or punk. But today it’s commonly referred to as “Emo” which drives most people that would probably like them upon a proper listen to not like them. Or people to not even give them a chance because of the “emo” label.”

I’m making a move, not only for myself, but for the betterment of music today, to remove genres from music. It causes too much segregation in the scene and it honestly serves no purpose. For the sake of myself and the people that actually read my blog (which I think I only have 2 followers anyway), I refuse to label anything I listen to or talk about with a genre. They don’t exist to me anymore. It’s just simply called “Music.”

I Got This Shit on Lock, Son!

Why doesn’t a useless “sport” like NASCAR go on lockout? Pretty sure America would be better off without a bunch of rednecks screaming and drinking Coors or whatever the hell shitty brand they drink.

Not a fan, but bring back the NBA. We gotta give the minority something to look forward to besides February…
